Friends

Smiling faces, don't they make you feel good? I don't know the two ladies in this photo but I wish I did. Just look at the expressions and feel the love and enjoyment of a good friendship. I just spent the last two days in the company of such ladies and I have to tell you that my moral went up one hundred percent. I should have a picture of them, which I do not . . . shame on me, I'll have to fix that in the future, so you could see the smiling eyes and hear the tales they told. We go to Pancho's restaurant and have their fish taco special to enjoy every bite and relax and visit between our busy life styles. Marge puts us all t shame with her talent for knitting as well as making some of the most beautiful beading she does. Eunice was wearing a set she made and she sparkled. Marge was telling us of her day at the Manley Art Center where some of her pieces are displayed. She was showing a piece off one a lady admired the bracelet she had on and bought it right off her arm. We were so happy for her and her success.
Yesterday I had a surprise call from Carol asking me to join her for lunch to celebrate Cinco De Mayo and have the special lunch at the casino. We drove down and found a good crowd waiting for the specials. A tasty Tostada awaited us and it was delicious. From there we rode over to a hidden pathway to the beach and I got to walk on the beach. It was a very strong cold wind but it felt so good. I looked for agates but there were none to be had. There were plenty of broken shells and a lot of beach rocks. We didn't stay long and hopefully we will be able to go back there again one day and enjoy a walk along the entire beach where Carol tells me sand dollars are plentiful.
I ended my day with a visit from daughter Pat who came prepared to play a game of scrabble with me. It is not her favorite thing to do but she loves me and she knows how much I love to play scrabble. It was a good game for me as the tiles came my way . . . well at least she enjoyed the hot tea, and my day ended with a hug and a smile.
So today, look for the smiling faces of your friends. Make a lunch date and celebrate knowing each other. Start with a hug, order something delicious to eat, and if you are near someplace that has a walking trail, go for a hike and take time out of your busy lives just to enjoy your friends and today. A new day to make your own . . . make it a good one. Hugs to all.
