More Art

There were no artists given credit for the incredible picture of the Mona Lisa, just that artists assistants placed 3,604 cups of coffee filled in different amounts of milk to create the different shades and bring the picture to life. Unbelievable. The old radio show 'The Shadow' comes to mind as the deep voice reminded us that "what lurks in the hearts of men . . . the shadow knows." Our minds are magic and each of us has a talent to develop. Have you ever noticed that once a talent is discovered within ourselves we find that there are many more to go with it? It is possible for each of us to be multi talented and all we have to do is to have the courage of our own convictions. We don't have to wait for someone else to discover us, all we have to do is have faith in ourselves and reach for the illusive ring just beyond our finger tips . . . one more stretch and it is ours.
So today, Saturday open your eyes, your mind and your heart and try something new and different and surprise yourself. You may have a talent you know about but are a little to shy to show because you allow yourself to think you are not as good as someone else . . . rubbish . . . you are just as good, if not better, so don't hide behind in a bushel of self doubt, get busy and show off, it's about time.
Speaking of talent, Chon came by last evening to finish mowing the patch of grass in my back yard. It looked pretty funny with a circle mowed around a patch of tall grass that was left because the mower gave up the ghost. Chon had to buy a new mower and my patch looks pretty neat this morning. He even weeded between some of the front rocks, not an easy task at all, and one he really does not enjoy doing. He trimmed the hedges and the overgrown bushes on the side of the house so he amazed himself and me with the spark of his old energy. I doctored the cut on his finger from a very sharp thistle, fed him homemade cookies and hot coffee, wrote out his check and we were both happy his talent for sprucing up the yard was back. The slump seemed to have passed and the sun actually was out in all its glory for at least a couple of hours. Now if it comes out today I may tackle a few rhodys and dead head all the faded blossoms so the bushes will burst with new energy and show off again next season.
Grab your sense of style, go out and weed a patch today then rest on your laurels and make good use of the rest of your day. Hugs to all.
